We're holding a Town Hall to build support for statewide Right to Counsel! Our bill (S06678A | A07570A) is the most comprehensive and expansive Right to Counsel legislation introduced in the country that strengthens Right to Counsel in NYC and guarantees the right to a lawyer for ALL tenants across New York State. This crucial legislation:

• Applies to ALL tenants facing eviction.

• Covers ANY case that could result in a tenant losing their housing.

• Requires the courts, judges, and landlords to ensure that tenants know about and can use their Right to Counsel.

WHEN: Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 6:30pm

WHERE: Via Facebook Live and Zoom. Once you RSVP, you'll receive an email with the Zoom link and login information (English and Spanish). Remember, you don't need a Facebook account to join the live stream! 

WHY: New Yorkers need permanent solutions to the eviction crisis! Right to Counsel has proven to be immensely successful at stopping evictions and protecting tenants' rights - For example, in NYC alone, more than 84 percent of tenants who had a Right to Counsel lawyer were able to stay in their homes. We must strengthen and expand this important right to ALL tenants across New York State!
