On January 27, 2022, we held a POWERFUL Town Hall on Right to Counsel for ALL! More than 350 tenants across the state hopped on Zoom and Facebook to learn about this important legislation (A07570A / S06678A) and urge their legislators to sponsor it. We also heard moving stories from tenants and lawyers in Ithaca, Westchester, Syracuse, Rochester, and NYC about the need for Right to Counsel statewide and how having the RIGHT to a FREE lawyer can help stop evictions.

What's next? TAKE ACTION!
New York's pandemic related eviction protections expired last month, leaving hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers at risk of eviction and homelessness. Now is the time to enact permanent solutions that strengthen tenants’ rights and empower tenants to fight for their homes – Passing statewide Right to Counsel (A07570A / S06678A) would do just that! We need to show broad statewide support for this crucial legislation! Sign the petition TODAY urging the state legislature to pass Right to Counsel for ALL!
You can also download hardcopy versions of this petition in English and Spanish.
